LeBron James has been pretty quiet since he and his team lost the NBA Playoffs last summer. But he was back in front of the cameras and fans on Friday for his new store opening in Aventura Mall.
Unknwn is an urban footwear clothing store James curated and created with five of his friends. The store was originally supposed to open in that fashion haven of Akron, Ohio. But when James took his talents to South Beach, the friends' store dreams stalled.
Unknwn founder Frankie Walker told Slamhype he wanted to open a sneaker store because of how far he used to have to travel to find cool kicks in Ohio. While having a store in Aventura doesn't really fill that void, there's enough Heat fans and sneaker aficionados to make the venture worthwhile.
James's new retail venture will stock clothing lines such as Original Fake, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and The Hundreds; sneakers by Nike, Jordan, Vans, and Converse; and accessories by Kidrobot, Ambush, and Beats by Dre.
