Although Queen Elizabeth II's property is currently mired in a shocking murder mystery case, we're choosing to focus on more pleasant moments from the Sandringham estate: like this photo of Queen Elizabeth perched atop a horse.
Her Majesty took an equestrian turn yesterday, going for a ride atop a dark brown horse in an adjacent stable. Her husband, Prince Phillip, was also at the estate, presumably resting following his recent release from a hospital after a health scare. (The aforementioned body was found on the estate hours earlier.)
We're also digging the queen's stylish riding outfit: a navy cape, bright red boots and -- yes! -- is that red lipstick?
According to the Daily Mail, the queen, 85, skipped on a chauffeur and drove herself to the stables for the ride in a Range Rover. Could she get any cooler?
The queen is a long time fan of horse riding; she reportedly purchased Liz Hurley's prizewinning racehorse earlier this month.
Other famous royal equestrians? The queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips, a professional horseback rider, and of course, Prince William.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story incorrectly identified Zara Phillips as the queen's daughter. We also incorrectly referred to the queen as 'Her Royal Highness.'
