On September 26 of this year, Rick Schroder will celebrate 20 years married to his wife Andrea. It was a marriage perhaps foretold in her own diary. On "The Mortified Sessions" (Mon., 8 p.m. EST on Sundance), Schroder talked about an entry she wrote when she was 12 years old. She cited a dream where she met him in her native Calgary and they connected right away.
Six years later when she was 18 and he was 22, Schroder was in Calgary filming a movie. While there, he was introduced to Andrea and he was as taken with her as her dream had foreseen. "When I wanted something, I took it," he said. "And Andrea I wanted, so I just took her."
Nineteen years and four kids later, he still has her. It's a Hollywood match made in Heaven. Or perhaps made in the dreams of a young girl with a crush on that cute kid from "Silver Spoons." However it happened, the tears in his eyes as he talked about her show that their love remains as powerful a thing now as it was when the flame first sparked on that fateful day in Calgary.
"The Mortified Sessions" features chats with different celebrities every Monday night at 8 p.m. EST on Sundance.
