'Jersey Shore' Spinoff: Are Snooki & JWoww Headed To Hoboken Or Jersey City?

Is The 'Jersey Shore' Spinoff Heading To Hoboken?

Snooki and JWoww are getting ready to launch their "Jersey Shore" spinoff. Though rumor has it they're leaving Seaside Heights, the new show could still be staying in the Garden State. MTV producers are reportedly scouting locations in Hoboken and Jersey City for Snooki and JWoww's as-yet-unnamed series, according to Hudson Now.

In April 2011, MTV announced that it had ordered two spinoff series starring members of the "Jersey Shore" cast: one focusing on Pauly D's DJing career and the other centering on Snooki and JWoww. The network described Snooki and JWoww's show as a look at the ladies' lives away from the beach. "Always inseparable and ready to get the party started at the shore, viewers will get to see how they deal with life and love when the vacation is over in this 12-episode series," a statement read at the time. "The locale may be different, but the friendship is sure to remain the same."

Earlier in 2011, it was reported that the "Jersey Shore" best friends -- and their hilarious height differences -- were heading to Long Island to film their pilot, but perhaps that locale didn't work out.

The two potential New Jersey locations MTV is reportedly looking at now -- Hoboken and Jersey City -- could prove to be a good fit for the pair's boozy shenanigans: Hoboken boasts the most bars per-capita of any city in the United States, and both cities are short train-rides away from Manhattan's bustling nightlife. In other words: No Karma, no problem.

For "Jersey Shore," the spinoff seems to be coming into focus at exactly the right time. After the show's lackluster Season 5 premiere, many have been declaring that the show's tidal wave of popularity has crested. The show's ratings were down significantly from the gang's season abroad in Italy.

The New York Post, however, reported that it's the original "Jersey Shore" itself that could be heading for Jersey City, instead of its Snooki-JWoww spinoff. The paper also claims that producers are looking into Las Vegas and Los Angeles as possibile new locations for "Jersey Shore," which has been optioned for another season. But a rep for MTV told the Post that "no decision has been made."
