Colbert Super PAC Ad Vows To Destroy Romney, Gingrich (VIDEO)

WATCH: Colbert Super PAC Gets Even Dirtier

Colbert Super PAC is refusing to lose steam as the South Carolina primary grows ever closer. In a new ad released late Wednesday night, the organization now run by Jon Stewart made its most bold statement yet: it will "destroy" Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and their Super PACs "with a merciless ad torrent so fierce they'll wish they'd never been incorporated."

The Super PAC's previous ads have targeted Romney and called for South Carolinians to vote for Herman Cain as a symbolic vote for Colbert. But the third installment is the campaign's most direct -- and threatening -- message yet. Wednesday night's press release quoted Stewart about the ad's focus, the increasingly nasty tone of the campaign:

"People are tired of the relentless attack ads from Super PACs supporting Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney," said Jon Stewart, President For Life For Now of The Definitely Not Coordinating With Stephen Colbert Super PAC. "So we plan to run negative ads attacking their negative ads to make it right. That'll learn 'em."

Colbert stopped by "The Daily Show" on Tuesday night to enjoy a little "non-coordinated" discussion of Super PAC loopholes, mentioning that he didn't want to see any negative ads if they could in any way be traced back to him. Then, later, on his own show he detailed the legalities of his uncoordinated relationship with his former Super PAC even further.

The amount of satire Colbert and Stewart are heaping into one -- totally non-coordinated -- force are nothing if not dizzying. They are simultaneously skewering campaign finance, Citizen's United, the political climate, the candidates themselves, the American culture war, the relationship between media and politics, and more.

Fortunately, the presence of Colbert as a non-candidate candidate in this race makes one thing clear: things are going to get a lot better before they get better. Check out the ad above and let us know what you'd like to see Colbert Super PAC do next.
