Singer Ellie Goulding played an eight-number show at New York City's JFK International Thursday evening, as JetBlue passengers and crew looked on.

Held at the carrier's flagship Terminal 5, the set was part of a continuing concert series called Live from T5 that started in 2009. Prior acts include James Blunt, Chris Isaak, Sarah McLachlan and Taylor Swift.

With flights departing and arriving during the performance, it's far from a typical show. (Gear like guitars, keyboards, drums and laptops go through security screening, for one.) An intimate crowd size is another difference.

"The crowd is never too large, which creates a truly intimate experience between the audience and the performer," says JetBlue spokeswoman Allison Steinberg.

Live from T5 isn't the only non-aviation event the airline's hosted at JFK: In March, Irish dancers marked St. Patrick's Day and in October, a silent disco hosted costumed revelers.
