Brit Hume, Fox News Pundit, Calls Obama's State Of The Union Address 'Boring' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Fox News Pundit Bored By Obama's Speech

Fox News pundit Brit Hume participated in the network's coverage of the State of the Union address Monday night and had a rather blunt review for President Obama.

"I think this speech in the end was a bit boring," Hume said of Obama's third State of the Union address.

Hume said that he has covered 35 State of the Union addresses, and always thought it was a "murderous assignment for any president." He added that "for one thing they're always too long and for certain political reasons in Washington, they need to be because there are a multitude of bases and constituencies and members of Congress, and so on and must have their, particular you know places touched, if you will.”

Hume described all State of the Union addresses as inherently boring because of the "laundry list" of tasks a president needs to accomplish with the speech. So while he found the speech boring, he added that Obama did "a workmanlike job," and thought it was "you know fine."

The reactions following Monday's State of the Union were not as predictable as one may expect. Some Republican congressmen praised the President's speech.
