Sarah Hyland On Jimmy Kimmel: Star Talks Bowling At Pinz In Sherman Oaks

WATCH: Sarah Hyland's Horrible 21st Birthday In The Valley

Doe-eyed starlet Sarah Hyland plays a high school student on ABC's "Modern Family," which could explain why she's constantly getting carded at bars and casino floors. The actress just turned 21 last November, and when she shared the stage with Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday, she told a story about the worst 21st birthday ever -- a thwarted beer and bowling attempt in the Valley.

At midnight, which was technically the start of Hyland's birthday, she and her friends got turned away at Jerry's Deli bar in Studio City because they couldn't serve her until the next business day. Next door at Pinz, the group discovers that they've arrived 15 minutes before closing time and won't be allowed to start a game. It's probably not the first time a birthday girl has been disappointed at a Pinz and Jerry's Deli party; unfortunately for them, this may be the first time they've been called out on a national late night show.

It's almost enough to make you think Hyland's just a normal girl, except for the fact that she celebrated her birthday a few weeks later at a Bellagio club in Las Vegas. Plus, her on-screen mom Julie Bowen gave her a bottle of tequila to mark the occasion.
