Wild Winter Weather Photo Contest: Submit Your Own

The weather is always unpredictable and this winter, the freezing rain, snow and storms have left particularly dramatic scenes in their wake.

In the month of January, Chicago, D.C. and other regions in the U.S. faced freezing rain, while heavy snowfall in Austria, Afghanistan and U.S. states from New York to Washington left us with images of a winter wonderland.

Beyond winter weather, Texas was recently hit with severe storms, but not enough water to make up for the state's record-breaking drought. In Fiji, flooding and deadly landslides left hundreds homeless this month. According to the Associated Press, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued a report in November warning that the world should expect more heat waves, floods, droughts and other "unprecedented extreme weather" caused by global warming in the future.
