Ashley Greene: Kissing Olivia Wilde In 'Butter' Wasn't 'That Awkward'

Ashley Greene On Kissing Olivia Wilde: 'It Wasn't That Awkward'

Girl-on-girl celeb kisses in big movies tend to garner more buzz than the film itself. Who cares about the downward spiral of a professional dancer in "Black Swan" when Mila Kunis is smooching Natalie Portman? And why pay attention to a biopic on a legendary rock band when "Runaways" stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning are playing tonsil hockey?

With that in mind, say hello to the next big same-sex smooch scene: Ashley Greene and Olivia Wilde in the upcoming movie "Butter."

Greene covered March's Lucky magazine, giving them the first go at the inevitable "What was it like?" query.

"It wasn't that awkward," the "Twilight" star said about the makeout session. "It's the same idea when you're having to kiss a male costar and it's not real. Olivia is such a cool chick and very professional. So we were just messing around and cracking up in between scenes, and it ended up being really fun. And now I'm the envy of every straight male everywhere!"

Speaking of "Twilight," Greene spoke to Lucky about being grateful for the experience to star in the blockbuster franchise -- but that doesn't mean she wants to be known as a vampire the rest of her career.

"'Twilight' has given me something to skyrocket off of ... But now that it's ending, there's so much work to be done. And if I don't do it, then Twilight’s all I’m ever going to be known for, as great as it is.”

Greene will face her post-"Twilight" test when "Butter" -- which stars Wilde, Jennifer Garner, Hugh Jackman and Alicia Silverstone -- hits theaters March 16.
