Cassanova McKinzy Cites Chick-Fil-A In Choosing Auburn Over Clemson (VIDEO)

My, my has Chick-Fil-A been kind to the Auburn Tigers this year.

Exactly one month after demolishing Virginia 43-24 in the Chick-Fil-A bowl, the Tigers signed a top-rated linebacker recruit based partially on, and we're not making this up, the conveniently located Chick-Fil-A on its campus.

Cassanova McKinzy is a 6'2" 225 pound outside linebacker from Birmingham who held scholarship offers from most schools in the SEC. By signing day on Wednesday, McKinzy had narrowed down his choice to two schools -- Auburn and Clemson -- before announcing that he would be staying in-state and attending Auburn.

But things got interesting when McKinzy was asked how he ultimately chose between the two schools.

"They had no Chick-Fil-A on campus," McKinzy remarked about Clemson. "You had to go 15 minutes off-campus to go to a real restaurant."

Regardless of whether or not the relative location of a Chick-Fil-A should ever factor into one's decision about where to attend college, it would at least seem wise to extensively research whatever criteria being used. Oddly, it seems that McKinzy did not do his fast food homework since there actually is a Chick-Fil-A location on the Clemson campus, according to the restaurant's website.

But what's done is done, and the main lessons to be learned from this announcement are that Clemson's on campus Chick-Fil-A needs to increase its marketing presence, and Auburn's strength and conditioning staff might want to keep a close watch on their newest fast food inclined pupil.
