'Anderson' Asks Cast If 'Teen Mom' Glamorizes Teen Pregnancy (VIDEO)

It's a controversy that's hovered around both "Teen Mom," "Teen Mom 2" and "16 and Pregnant." Are these shows glamorizing teen pregnancy? Anderson Cooper brought the issue up to some of the stars themselves on Monday's "Anderson" (Weekdays, Syndicated).

He had Chelsea Houska, Farrah Abraham and Kailyn Lowry on as guests to see if they think the level of celebrity they've achieved for their roles in these shows might be sending the wrong message to teen girls.

"We don't choose to be on the cover of magazines," Lowry said. Abraham added, "Usually they don't say good things about us."

But there's a reason for the old adage "there's no such thing as bad press." Good or bad, it creates fame. "Even if they're saying things which aren't nice about you, it's still your famous," Anderson said. He further explained that their young fans may not know whether or not they agreed to be on that cover.

In a country obsessed with fame, and reality television giving it to more people than ever before, it's a legitimate conversation. "I feel like we're here to be doing a social effort to help get rid of teen pregnancy," Houska explained. "Yes, we're trying to be role models by showing the reality of our hardships."

The question is if their intended message is the one that's getting out there.
