WATCH: New Orleans Funeral March For Man Killed On FDR

Following the death of Medhi Kabbaj after he was struck by a car running across the FDR Drive in January, a group of jazz players gathered in the Lower East Side on Saturday to pay tribute with a jazz cavalcade.

Bowery Boogie got a glimpse of the musical memorial with one mourner explaining that Kabbaj had always hoped of going "out with the New Orleans bang."

The procession concluded with gatherings at local venues CultureFix and Salt Bar.

Kabbaj was the owner of popular men's boutique, 20 Peacocks, located on Clinton Street. Kabbaj was struck by an oncoming vehicle after jumping out of a cab on the FDR Drive on his way home one evening.
