#ToMyUnbornChild Twitter Trend Sparks Homophobic Tweets (PHOTOS)

In what can be seen as a disturbing sign of the times, a seemingly harmless Twitter trend quickly descended into a flurry of homophobic statements from people of all ages within a span of 24 hours.

Users initially used the hashtag #ToMyUnbornChild to tweet to their future children. While some sent messages of love, devotion and a happy childhood, others began threatening to murder their kids if they turned out gay.

One user suggested his child "might as well die as a miscarriage" if he or she turned out gay, while another simply threatened to disown the youth.
