Super PAC Raises $2.9 Million for Santorum

The super PAC backing Rick Santorum's presidential bid -- Red White And Blue Fund -- reported raising $2.9 million in February and spending $3.2 million. The group, which has provided solid legs for the previously underfunded Santorum, continued to raise money largely from the same sources that it tapped previously.

Wyoming investor Foster Friess, who got in trouble by telling women to put aspirin between their knees as a birth control solution, gave $600,000. Energy magnate William Dore gave another $500,000, and Annette Simmons, the wife of Texas billionaire and super PAC mega-donor Harold Simmons, chipped in $1,000,000.

The group ended February with more than $300,000 cash on hand, but has since spent $2.47 million across six states in March.
