'RuPaul's Drag Race' Shock Exit: Challenge Winner Disqualified

There was high drama on "RuPaul's Drag Race" (Mon., 10 p.m. ET on Logo) Monday night when one of the contestants made a shocking exit from the show.

After Willam and Latrice Royale had won the "Frenemy" challenge, Sharon Needles and Phi Phi O'Hara were up for elimination.

However, as they waited anxiously to find out which one RuPaul was sending home, things went in a surprising direction.

RuPaul asked Willam to step forward. Like everyone else, Sharon Needles wondered, "What the hell is happening?"

"Willam," said RuPaul, "you won tonight because you are a beautiful and talented queen, but it has come to my attention that you have broken the rules."

As the stunned queens looked on in shock, RuPaul disqualified Willam. "You leave me no choice. Willam, I have to ask you to leave the competition immediately."

And then the coup de grace for the disgraced Willam: "Sashay. Away."

Oddly, Willam's disqualification was not explained during the show, but she did vomit in front of everyone else during the "Frenemy" challenge. Was that why she was sent home?

This lack of transparency has led to frenzied online speculation from fans as to the cause of Willam's vomiting and if it was related to her disqualification. Was Willam on drugs, or taking female hormones? Does she have an eating disorder? Was she hungover after a night out?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly Willam refused to divulge the reason for her disqualification, but it is just possible that it was all part of a publicity push for her new single.

Hopefully next week's episode -- or the reunion special at the end of the season -- will reveal all about Willam's shock exit, so tune in to "RuPaul's Drag Race" every Monday at 10 p.m. ET on Logo.
