Accused madam Anna Gristina might have hoped her sexy tabloid-friendly case was going to go away, but this whole Millionaire Madam circus is showing no signs of slowing down.
DNAinfo reported Thursday that someone in the investigation named John Edwards as a john. According to a call girl employed at Gristina's infamous brothel, Edwards reportedly paid to have sex with the woman during a pit stop in New York to raise money for his doomed presidential run in 2007.
Edwards has since denied the report (but also famously denied initial reports from the National Inquirer that he fathered a child with mistress Rielle Hunter).
Edwards is just the latest, and by far biggest, notable figure to be roped into this growing case. Others include a shady Morgan Stanley employee, disgraced IRS agent, an oddly loyal former attorney who has offered his $2.5 million home for Gristina's release, a hot 'brothel recruiter', and more. And while Gristina says she won't name her clients, there are bound to be more boldface names roped into the trial.
