A Chicago comedian's viral video parody of Lana Del Rey's "Video Games," rewritten to recap the book-turned-blockbuster "Hunger Games," made the leap from YouTube to iTunes earlier this month.

Written by and starring Second City veteran Holly Laurent, it mimics Del Rey's signature collage-style video, interspersed with shots of an angsty, bouffant-ed Laurent singing about Gayle, Peeta, the Capital and more references to Suzanne Collins bestselling young adult series, from the perspective of protagonist Katniss Everdeen.

"Hunting in the meadow, Gale's this guy that I know, he's got a girl's name," Laurent drones between clips from the film's trailer. "This district smells like rat piss, my name is Katniss, I’ll play the Hunger Games."

Since it was posted in early February, the video has had more than 600,000 views on YouTube.
