Less than four weeks away from the NFL Draft, many signs are pointing to Washington selecting Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III. Before making the No. 2 overall pick, the club's 2012 makeover may begin with their uniforms.
After a decade of Reebok serving as the NFL's uniform manufacturer, Nike is back under center, kicking off the 2012 season with an unveiling of new designs for all 32 teams. The sportswear giant is set to showcase its uniforms at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Uni Watch's Twitter feed will track the latest designs as they become available.
Among the possible candidates for a revamped appearance are the Redskins -- a team whose logo has gone through several iterations since moving to D.C. for the 1937 season.
Bleacher Report columnist Gary Davenport thinks the Redskins are a prime candidate for a redesign that eliminates its controversial Indian Head -- unchanged since the 1983 season. Images surfaced on JockPost.com showcasing possible new jerseys and helmets, but WTOP Radio reports that the validity surrounding those pictures is unclear.
