Liam Neeson In 'Non-Stop': Dude Has A Very Particular Set Of Skills, Again

Liam Neeson May Star In Very Typical Liam Neeson Movie

Liam Neeson has a very particular set of skills, as evidenced by his recent turns in "Taken," "Unknown," and even "The Grey" (the latter of which needed way more wolf boxing). Now, in Lebron James-like fashion, he's taking his talents to 30,000 feet (marketers, feel free to stick that on the poster): Variety reports that Neeson is negotiating to star in "Non-Stop," a "contained thriller" about an air marshall dealing with trouble during a flight.

Per THR, the flight in question will be of the domestic variety, but Variety quotes sources as saying "Non-Stop" takes place during an international trip. Whichever it is, expect the sequel to be the opposite.

Neeson's character is described as a worn-out, which might be the case for the star as well. He just starred in "Wrath of the Titans," makes appearances in "Battleship" and "The Dark Knight Rises" this summer, and will lead "Taken 2" in the fall.

"Non-Stop" follows a recent Hollywood binge on throwback action thrillers that owe more than a little to "Die Hard": both "White House Down" and "Speeding Bullets" were described in terms of "Die Hard," and "Non-Stop" seems to follow that John McClane-y path. All of which raises the question: why not just cast Neeson in "Die Hard 5" and call it a day?
