Taxpayer Receipt: Here's How Your Tax Dollars Are Spent (GRAPHIC)

Your Receipt, From This Guy

Curious how your tax dollars are being spent by the federal government?

Check your federal taxpayer receipt. The White House released an updated tool Wednesday that allows you to plug in what you paid in Social Security, Medicare and income taxes. The tool then calculates how your dollars and cents are being allocated in the federal budget.

The taxpayer receipt is the end result of a promise made by President Obama in his 2011 State of The Union address.

"Because you deserve to know exactly how and where your tax dollars are being spent, you'll be able to go to a website and get that information for the very first time in history," Obama said. The receipt was launched in 2011 but has since been retooled to reflect current spending, according to the White House website.

Haven't paid your taxes yet? Time is running out. This year, taxes are due on Tuesday, April 17.
