Paul Silas Shoved Tyrus Thomas REPORT: Bobcats Teammates Separate Coach From Player

REPORT: Bobcats Coach Shoves Player In Locker Room

The wheels have fallen off in Charlotte. Not that it matters, as the Bobcats had run out of gas a long time ago. But according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Bobcats are now taking out their 7-win frustration on each other.

Per the Yahoo! report, head coach Paul Silas shoved forward Tyrus Thomas in the locker room following a loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday night. The two were said to have engaged in a screaming match and had to be separated by several other players.

Tempers have flared between a coach and player before, even a cool character like Tom Brady got into a heated sideline argument with the Patriots' offensive coordinator during a game last season. The most infamous player-coach confrontation may have occurred during the 1997-98 NBA season when Warriors guard Latrell Sprewell got so upset with coach P. J. Carlesimo during a December practice that he attacked and choked him for nearly 15 seconds. Sprewell was suspended and never played for the Warriors again. That Golden State team finished 19-63.

Sitting at 7-53, the Bobcats will finish with the worst record in the league no matter what happens over the six remaining games of the season. They have already suffered a losing streak of 16 games this season and have currently dropped their last 17. They have been insulted on NBA.com and as Bill Simmons pointed out in his Friday column, Charlotte might end up with the NBA's worst winning percentage in history.

"We are desperate to get a win," Charlotte guard Matt Carroll said. "No one wants to be known as the worst team in NBA history."
