On Wednesday, the Brewers Association released its annual list of the top 50 craft and overall brewing companies in the U.S.
The not-for-profit trade group came up with the rankings using beer sales volume numbers from 2011. Of the top 50 overall brewing companies, 36 of them are small and independent craft outfits. In the last 15 years, craft brewing has grown from one to six percent of the total beer market.
That said, all the top spots in the list of overall brewing companies are taken up by mega-companies like Anheuser-Busch Inc., MillerCoors and Pabst.
