Morgan Spurlock Talks Comic-Con On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (VIDEO)

Morgan Spurlock stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (Weeknights, 12 a.m.ET on ABC) to talk about his new documentary "Comic-Con: Episode IV - A Fan's Hope."

Spurlock explained to Jimmy Kimmel just what made him want to make a film about such an already well-documented event. He said it was all about the dedicated fans and characters who attend each year.

Case in point: Back in 2009 Spurlock was on a "Simpsons" panel at Comic-Con when "this guy comes running in, painted head-to-toe in liquid red latex."

It turned out that the guy was dressed as "Carnage," and he was a "Simpsons" fan who wanted to thank the producers in person for making the show.

He told the panel that his wife and kids had helped him with his costume and had dropped him off that day. But that was as far as their Comic-Con involvement went. "They don't really get it," he shrugged.

"Comic-Con: Episode IV - A Fan's Hope" is in theaters now. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs weeknights at 12 a.m.ET on ABC.
