'Desperate Housewives' Series Finale Spoilers: Weddings, Birth And Death

Grab a tissue because the "Desperate Housewives" series finale promises to be chock full of touching moments. In a new behind the scenes report from TV Guide Magazine, the ladies of "Desperate Housewives" revealed there were many, many tears once they began work on the series finale.

The cast received the scripts over the weekend of April 13 and at the first table read, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

"It was a crying fest," Eva Longoria told TV Guide Magazine. "Brenda [Strong, who plays Mary Alice] couldn't get through her voice-overs. I couldn't get through my dialogue."

After the table read, Felicity Huffman said she, Longoria and Marcia Cross spent close to an hour together, "crying, hugging and reminiscing." (Teri Hatcher was at an ABC event.)

"It was a sweet, private moment for us," Cross said.

How does it all end? ABC has kept the details on lockdown, but we do know familiar faces will return to Wisteria Lane. "Body of Proof" star Dana Delany (Katherine Mayfair) will be back along with Christine Estabrook (Martha Huber), James Denton, Steven Culp, Roger Bart, Richard Burgi and Lupe Ontiveros.

According to TV Guide Magazine, the "Desperate Housewives" series finale will see Renee (Vanessa Williams) marrying Ben (Charles Mesure), another housewife considering marriage -- again --- and Julie (Andrea Bowen) giving birth. Of course it wouldn't be a "Desperate Housewives" finale without a little emotional moments: Mrs. McCluskey (Kathryn Joosten) will deal with the final stages of lung cancer. Did you think you'd get a "Housewives" without a flashback? Wrong. Viewers will also see the Mary Alice (Strong) arrive on Wisteria Lane.

"I feel like [the finale] does a pretty good job at honoring all the different characters and their sort of unique wheelhouses that they brought ... to 'Desperate Housewives,'" Hatcher told People magazine. "Whether it be comedy or drama or physical comedy, I feel like the stories make sense. I think it will be better than some other big finales."
