Diane Keaton Chats With Stephen Colbert

Diane Keaton Misinterprets A Backstage Hug From This Comedian

Diane Keaton made an appearance on "The Colbert Report" this week to talk about the paperback release of her book, "Then Again" -- though the two managed to avoid the subject entirely. Instead, Keaton misinterpreted a "backstage hug" from Colbert and insisted she wouldn't vote for him for president (watch for her reasons!)

Keaton released her autobiography in November 2011 to great critical acclaim (the New York Times described it as "rich and ruminative, provocatively honest, jumbled and jittery and textured"). In it she reflects on her stuggles with bulimia, the influence of "great men" in her life, and her relationship with her mother -- though you wouldn't learn any of this from her interview with Stephen, except for the fact that she read her mother's diaries as research. Instead, find out why Colbert hasn't been invited back to the White House Correspondents' Dinner, and why Keaton finally tries to flee the stage.
