A Lafayette College student was found dead in his dorm room on Saturday, allegedly after drinking too much during his birthday celebration.
Everett Glenn, an avid fencer, had been drinking heavily to celebrate his birthday and allegedly had a heart attack, his mother told the The Express-Times.
"He was drinking too much and then he went to his room and he laid down," Joanne Glenn said.
A memorial service held for Glenn on Saturday night was attended by more than 700 members of the tiny college's community. Glenn, known as 'Mr. Mayor' around campus, was extremely well-liked for his outgoing personality.
"You were just one of those people who everyone gravitated towards," "Jack" wrote on the website rememberingeverett.com. "You just always could bring out the best in others."
