Andy Cohen Talks Giving Himself A Show On 'Colbert'

Andy Cohen stepped away from the host position to sit down as a guest opposite Stephen Colbert on "The Colbert Report" (Weeknights, 11:30 p.m. ET on Comedy Central). Cohen was there to talk about his new book, "Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture," but Colbert nailed him immediately about his talk show.

What started as post-"Housewives" chats to a weekly show has morphed into the popular "Watch What Happens: Live," which now airs almost every night on Bravo. In very short order, Cohen has stepped right into the late night battle for viewership.

Colbert mentioned that Cohen was also Executive Vice President of Development at Bravo. "Did having that job convince you to give yourself a show on the network?” he asked.

Cohen laughed along, and proved a good match for Colbert's trademark interview techniques. The talkative host even survived a staring contest of silence with Colbert in an interview fans called a triumph of entertainment for both men.

Andy Cohen can be seen weeknights on "Watch What Happens: Live" at 11 p.m. ET on Bravo. "The Colbert Report" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
