Linda Evangelista's Style Evolution: From Supermodel To Fashion Icon (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Linda Evangelista's Headline-Making Style

When Linda Evangelista is talked about these days, her child support case with French billionaire François-Henri Pinault is likely to come up first. (For the record, she won the case, reaching a confidential deal.) But long before the Canadian-born beauty was busy stylishly strolling in and out of court, she commanded our attention on the runway.

Discovered as a contestant in the Miss Teen Niagara beauty pageant, Evangelista later signed with Elite Model Management and moved to Paris. However, it wasn't until 1988 when hairstylist Julien Dy chopped her long locks into a "bowl cut with sideburns" that her fashion career took off. From appearing on countless covers of Vogue thanks to fashion photographer Steven Meisel to sashaying down the catwalks of Chanel, Versace and Galliano to constantly changing her hair color from blonde to red to brown, Evangelista has rightfully earned her title as one of the five original supermodels.

In honor of Evangelista's 47th birthday on May 10th, we're taking a look back at the fashion icon's transformation over the years. Vote on all her looks in the slideshow below.
