'Game Of Thrones' Sean Bean Arrested For Harassing Wife

'Game Of Thrones' Actor Arrested

Sean Bean, known for his roles on HBO's fantasy series "Game of Thrones" and in "Lord of the Rings," was reportedly arrested Tuesday for allegedly harassing ex-wife Georgina Sutcliffe.

According to the Daily Mail, Bean made "abusive calls and sent a number of text messages" to Sutcliffe, his fourth wife, which resulted in the interrogation. Bean reportedly attended a prearranged interview at Holborn police station in London at midday over claims that he abused Sutcliffe. He also left DNA swabs and had his fingerprints taken, and was released on bail the same day.

A Scotland Yard spokesman didn't identify Bean by name but instead said: "A 53-year-old man attended a central London police station by appointment, where he was arrested and bailed pending further inquiries ... He was arrested on suspicion of harassment."

This isn't the first time the rugged actor has gotten into hot water regarding Sutcliffe. In July 2008, Bean was arrested over suspicion for a similar incident, though the couple later claimed it had been a domestic row that had gotten out of hand -- not assault. "Everything is OK. Sean and I are at home together enjoying the sunshine," Sutcliffe later said about the incident.

Bean, 54, and Sutcliffe, 34, met in 2003 at a West End theater where Bean was starring as Macbeth. The couple married in 2008 and split just two years later, in December 2010.

Sutcliffe is currently acting in the West End production of Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap." Bean starred as the king in the Tarsem Singh adaptation of "Snow White," "Mirror Mirror."
