While the rest of us were busy standing in line at the local brunch hotspot or desperately looking for an e-card that was funny but not bawdy, Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora got on Twitter to express his feelings on Mother's Day... to Eagles running back LeSean McCoy.
This Mother's Day crack is not the first time these two NFC East stars have tangled on Twitter. The Eagles' star running back tweeted that Umenyiora was "overrated n soft" during the 2011 offseason. Not long after, Umenyiora went back at McCoy, describing him to Mark Viera of The New York Times as "Lady Gaga."
Fast forward to Mother's Day 2012 and Umenyiora went directly to Twitter himself make a joke at the expense of McCoy, who gashed the Giants' defense for 128 and 113 yard rushing in the meetings between the teams last season. Of course those big games must seem awfully insignificant compared to the big prize that the Giants brought home to New Jersey.
No matter how much this Mother's Day joke upsets McCoy, he was likelier far more upset back in February when he watched the Giants celebrate their Super Bowl win. Either way, one of the NFL's fiercest longstanding rivalries now has yet another subplot to follow. Umenyiora and McCoy will first have the opportunity to trade pleasantries facemask to facemask on Sept. 30 when the Giants visit the Linc.
