If you've had anywhere near the lovely weather we had in New York this weekend, chances are you spent as much time as possible outside, right? Not according to Twitter. Tweets from women around the country indicate that a great many of us were not picnicking or running 10Ks or gardening but instead glued to Bravo's airing of "You've Got Mail" with Meg Ryan as children's bookstore owner Kathleen Kelly and Tom Hanks as chain bookstore magnate Joe Fox.
And who can blame us? It's only one of the most adorable romantic comedies of all time (thank you, Nora and Delia Ephron), especially compared to what the genre has yielded since. "The Back-up Plan"? "Bride Wars"? "No Strings Attached"? Yuck. Also, who didn't want Kathleen Kelly's life? Owning the Shop Around the Corner? That apartment? That great pleated skirt she wore in that one scene? Greg Kinnear as an asshole writer? Dave Chappelle and Steve Zahn? The way the whole thing evokes a nostalgia for dial-up that you never thought you'd have?
