University Of Michigan Rejects Republican Law

The University of Michigan is supporting two legal battles against Public Act 45, a new law that bars its 2,200 graduate student research assistants from unionizing.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith signed an order allowing UM to become a new plaintiff in an April 17 lawsuit challenging Public Act 45 filed by the American Federation of Teachers-Michigan and its local, UM Graduate Employees Organization
