Garritt Cullerton, Illinois Senate President's Son, Charged With Assaulting Bouncer

Senate President's Son Facing Criminal Charges.. Again

The son of Illinois Senate President John Cullerton is facing criminal charges after a bouncer told police the 28-year-old threatened to punch him.

Garritt Cullerton was charged with misdemeanor simple assault after an altercation during the Do-Division street festival around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, according to NBC Chicago.

I am going to punch you in the face," police say Cullerton told the bouncer at the Innjoy Bar, according to CBS Chicago. "Punch you in the f—— face and knock you out.”

This is not the Senate President's son's first run-in with the law. In April 2010 he was charged with a misdemeanor DUI after a roadside breathalyzer test showed his blood alcohol content was nearly 0.19. Cullerton has been pulled over at least eight times since 2001.

Court records indicate that the $1,250 fine assessed for Cullerton's 2010 DUI has not yet been paid, according to the Tribune.
