Jamie Foxx In 'White House Down'? Actor Sought To Play President Opposite Channing Tatum

Mr. President? Jamie Foxx In Talks For 'White House Down'

Jamie Foxx: from the outhouses of Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" to the White House?

Foxx is on the top of the list to play the president of the United States in Roland Emmerich's "White House Down," an action thriller that sounds like the best episode of "24" mixed with "Die Hard." The film focuses on a Secret Service agent (played by Channing Tatum, natch) who must save the president after the White House is taken over by a terrorist group. "White House Down" has been on the fast track since first being announced in March, as Sony tries to beat the similarly themed "White House Taken" (with Gerard Butler as a Secret Service agent) to the big screen.

This wouldn't be the first time Foxx played a politician. He famously appeared as Tony Blair during a hilarious sketch on "Chappelle's Show."
