Katie Couric has a little extra spring in her step these days and it's not just because she is getting ready to debut her own nationally syndicated talk show. It's also because she's getting ready to reveal her handsome new man.
"Katie told a friend she was dating again a couple of months ago but has not revealed many details -- except that he is in finance and that she is very happy," a friend of Katie's tells me.
That happiness could be seen a few nights ago on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in the neighborhood where Katie lives, where the couple was seen sitting and talking with each other and exchanging a gentle kiss.
"This is a great time in Katie's life," an industry friend that has known Katie for years admits. "Early buzz on her talk show looks like it's going to be a massive hit, plus, she's getting great exclusives for ABC, like her rare sit-down interview with Princes William and Harry, and the Queen's Jubilee Special. She is enjoying spending time with her daughters, Ellie and Carrie, who are growing into wonderful ladies, and now she has a handsome man in her life. Who could ask for anything more?"
Katie and her previous boyfriend, Brooks Perlin, broke up last December after dating for five years.
