Corey And Christopher Colbert, Missing Chicago Boys, Were Hiding From Chores (VIDEO)

Missing Boys Found After Night Spent Hiding From Chores

The story of two Chicago boys reported missing Sunday has a happy ending as of Monday morning.

Police say Corey Colbert, 9, and his brother Christopher Colbert, 6, were found Monday morning when they showed up at their babysitter's house after spending the night hiding in some bushes nearby, according to CBS Chicago.

The reason for the impromptu campout? The boys knew there were chores waiting for them at home Sunday night and decided to stay out in order to avoid them, the janitor in the family's South Shore building told NBC Chicago.

Police issued a missing persons report Sunday when the boys could not be located after they were last seen playing basketball near 1700 East 68th Street that afternoon, according to the Chicago Tribune.

At the time they were reported missing, Corey was shirtless, wearing blue jeans with gym shoes, and Christopher was wearing a sleeveless white T-shirt with blue athletic shorts and gym shoes, NBC Chicago reports. They were uninjured Monday morning when they were reunited with their mother.
