Sofia Vergara Records Special Message For Aimee Copeland, Flesh-Eating Bacteria Victim (VIDEO)

WATCH: Sofia Vergara Records Message For Flesh-Eating Bacteria Victim

As the trophy wife Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on ABC’s hit comedy “Modern Family,” Sofia Vergara is known for making people laugh. But a new video posted on Celebuzz.com is showing a very different side of the Emmy-nominated Colombian actress.

In the heartfelt video, Vergara is throwing her support behind Aimee Copeland, the Georgia student recovering from a flesh-eating disease. Copeland, who was upgraded from critical to serious condition at Doctors Hospital of Augusta last Tuesday, contracted the flesh-eating bacteria after falling from a homemade zipline over a west Georgia river. Her left leg, right foot and both her hands have been amputated.

“We always have you in our minds and we also believe that you are such a strong person” Vergara, 39, said in the video message recorded in New York City. "We're so proud of what you've been doing and going through. And we hope the best - hopefully I can meet you soon and give you a hug and tell you how much we're so amazed about what you've been going through," Vergara said.
