Baby Duck Finds A New Friend, Follows Him Everywhere (VIDEO)

WATCH: Baby Duck Finds A Friend

When Carole King penned the famous lines to "You've Got A Friend" in 1971, we're certain she meant friends of the human variety. But after seeing this video, the singer would undoubtedly expand the definition to also include adorable baby ducks.

"You just call out my name," sings King, "and you know wherever I am, I'll come running -- to see you again." And run the little guy does, all the while squeaking in excitement. Sure it looks like a psychological study gone wonky, but dangit the fluffy fella is cute.

Here's to hoping the cinematographer's new friend made it home safely, though not before a couple rousing games of Duck, Duck, Goose!

Although this duck seems to have found a friend in humans, not all ducks are so lucky. The rarest duck on the planet, the Madagascan pochard, is a critically endangered species that humans are now fighting to save.

A political debate has been stirred over other ducks as foie gras bans are discussed in the U.S. As the Associated Press describes it when discussing a lawsuit over the delicacy, foie gras "is made from liver swollen to 10 times its normal size, which the lawsuit argues is acute hepatic lipidosis, a condition linked to obesity in animals. Ducks' livers become so engorged by the feeding process called "gavage" that the birds can't walk and have trouble breathing."
