Kahil Gray, Chicago Autistic Teen, Found Safe After Going Missing For 2 Days (VIDEO)

A missing autistic Chicago teen was found safe by a bicyclist 25 miles from the hospital where he was last seen almost two days before.

Kahil Gray, 15, went missing around 4 p.m. Tuesday at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood when he and his father were there for an appointment, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Hospital staff and volunteers alike had canvassed the area for nearly two days before Mary Olander came upon Kahil while jogging along a bike path near Harms Road in north suburban Glenview Thursday morning, ABC Chicago reports.

Olander told ABC that the teen, who has trouble communicating verbally, was "fine. He was calm. Just walking. Just looked a little confused. But he was fine."

She said she recognized Kahil from previous media reports and dialed 911.

Kahil was reunited with his family Thursday at Glenbrook Hospital, near where he was found.

"Thanks to God for having found Kahil. Words cannot express how happy I am," Kahil's aunt Sandra Gray told NBC Chicago. She added that she was deeply grateful to Olander for finding her son and alerting authorities.

Sandra believes her son, who she said is not familiar with public transit, walked the entire way -- all 25 miles of it -- between the hospital and the bike path, the Chicago Tribune reports.
