It takes 2393 liters of water to make a single hamburger. While that number sounds pretty staggering on its own, 2393 is not exactly easy to visualize. So the European Commission, as part of its "Generation Awake!" campaign created the video below, using water ballons to illustrate the exact amount.
There are several other examples and videos as part of the Imagine All The Water campaign. Think a hamburger uses up a lot of water? A steak takes 15,415 liters.
