'Bristol Palin: Life's A Tripp': Bristol's Son Tripp Asked His Mother To Buy Him A Dad (VIDEO)

Tripp Wants A Father Figure On 'Bristol Palin: Life's A Tripp'

After a disastrous premiere -- the show scored only 726,000 viewers -- Bristol Palin is going to have to mount a tremendous comeback if she wants to last long with "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp" (Tue., 10 p.m. ET on Lifetime). It's certainly a far cry from the heights the Palin family saw with "Sarah Palin's Alaska," or even Bristol's polarizing turn on "Dancing With the Stars."

Still, those who did tune in have found Bristol keeping it surprisingly real about the challenges of being a young, single mother.

This week, she opened up to her sister Willow about how she wished that Tripp's father Levi Johnston were a part of his life; so long as he would be a positive influence. She shared the heartbreak of hearing her son ask her to buy him a dad.

"I so wish, though, that I could co-parent," she admitted. "That I could have someone else to help raise him."

"Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp" continues -- for now -- every Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
