Matt LeBlanc Remembers When He Knew 'Friends' Was Big

There was a time when "Friends" was the biggest show in the world, and Matt LeBlanc was fortunate enough to be a part of that cultural phenomenon -- perhaps one of the last huge hits TV will ever see due to audience fragmentation. On "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (Weeknights, 12 a.m. ET on ABC), LeBlanc revealed that he still remembers the exact moment when he first realized just how big his hit sitcom had become.

It was when he was sitting in a traffic jam. He could overhear the theme song to "Friends" playing on the radio in the car next to him. The driver was dancing and jamming out to the track while they were waiting for traffic to move. But then, she turned and saw Joey Tribbiani sitting in the car next to her.

"She looks over, sees me, takes her foot off the break and smashes into the car in front of her," LeBlanc said. When seeing your face can lead someone to completely lose track of what they're doing, you're a pretty big deal.

Matt LeBlanc plays a smarmy version of himself in the upcoming second season of "Episodes," premiering Sunday at 10:30 p.m. ET on Showtime. Watch "Jimmy Kimmel Live" weeknights at 12 a.m. ET on ABC.
