Officer Raymond Therrien Saves Woman's Life By Kicking Knife-Wielder Constantine Greven

Lynn Police Officer Raymond Therrien once got in a knife fight -- the knife lost.

Therrien, a hero cop in Massachusetts with a fighting style similar to that of Chuck Norris, saved a woman's life Thursday by stopping a knife-wielding assailant with a few swift kicks to the stomach.

The Daily Item reports that Therrien saw the man, 40-year-old Constantine Greven, holding a kitchen knife and chasing a woman into the Lynn Police Department's building.

Greven allegedly began punching the 42-year-old woman and raised the knife to strike her, but Therrien was ready. The officer grabbed Greven's right arm in mid-thrust and "delivered several knee strikes to his midsection" until he dropped the knife, according to a police report obtained by the paper. He then radioed for help.

The victim told cops she'd been riding her bike in town when Greven -- whom she'd been in an on-and-off relationship with -- came at her with the knife. He allegedly threatened her, saying, "Today is a good day to die. I'm not going back to jail, someone is going to die," according to the report.

That's when she fled to the precinct.

Greven was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, violating a restraining order, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on an officer.

Therrien was charged with several counts of being awesome.

The alleged victim was asked at a hearing on Monday whether she'd like to renew an order of protection against Greven. She said no, the paper reported.
