'Grey's Anatomy' Adds New Doctor From 'True Blood' Cast

"Grey's Anatomy" is getting a new doctor all the way from Bon Temps.

Camilla Luddington, Claudette on "True Blood," is joining the Seattle Grace crew as a young MD, according to Deadline. The deal includes a series option to become a regular cast member next season. Luddington has also appeared on "Californication" and Lifetime’s "William & Kate" as Kate Middleton.

In addition to Luddington, "Grey's" also booked "Friday Night Lights" alum Gaius Charles for a Season 9 appearance.

"Grey's Anatomy" returns to ABC for Season 9 on Thursdays, 9 p.m. ET this fall.

In other casting news:

Lori Loughlin will be returning to "90210" for the Season 5 premiere. Loughlin left the CW drama in 2011, but will be back as Debbie Wilson in the aftermath of Dixon's car accident. [TV Line]

Richard Burgi will guest star on the Season 3 premiere of "Blue Bloods." The "Desperate Housewives" vet is joining the "Blue Bloods" Season 3 premiere as Councilman Anthony Russo, the chairman of the Committee on Public Safety who has some secrets. [TV Guide]

Former "Heroes" star is slated for "Dexter" Season 7 appearance. Santiago Cabrera, who played Isaac Mendez on "Heroes," will guest star as Ethan Price, a writer whose favorite topics are real-life famous murders. [EW]
