'Project Runway': Candy Was The Material, Leading To Some Fun And Colorful Designs (VIDEO)

Designing With Candy On 'Project Runway'

It was a confectioner's dream on "Project Runway" (Thu., 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime) as the contestants were treated with their first unconventional challenge. And it was a sweet one, as they were tasked to use candy in their designs.

What followed were some truly inspired pieces, utilizing brilliantly the varied textures, colors and shapes of their unconventional ingredient. But not everyone proved up to the challenge.

Gunnar, Sonjia and Ven seemed to sail through the challenge, easily scoring the top three outfits. But it was a different story for Buffi, Elena and Lantie. Buffi's look didn't fit the model properly, Elena's dress was struggling to hold itself together, and Lantie didn't embrace the candy motif at all. Instead, she just threw a few pieces of candy on her design.

The judges saw right through her failure to commit to the challenge and sent Lantie packing, who was making excuses the whole way out the door.

Who will get the boot next as "Project Runway" continues Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
