'Evil Twins': Identical Twin Brothers Serve Time In The Same Prison For Murder (VIDEO)

'Evil Twins' Sentenced To Same Prison For Murders

Doublemint has used the cuteness of twins to sell their gum for years. But "Evil Twins" (Thu., 10 p.m. ET on ID) showed a much darker and twisted side of one set of siblings, who were nearly identical in their criminality.

Robert and Stephen Spahalski didn't necessarly follow the exact same path to jail for murder, but they certainly tread on similar ground. The two were inseparable in their youth and in their crime sprees. They would feel challenged to out-steal one another, nabbing bigger and bigger items.

Stephen killed a store owner simply because the man "deserved it" and began his stints in and out of jail. Meanwhile, Robert became addicted to crack and became a serial killer. At one point, the brothers were both convicted of murder and served out their sentences in the same jail.

Now, though, the brothers are estranged, having not talked to one another in two years. But Robert wishes he could tell his brother he loves him and try to have a relationship again. But is there any future left for the two after such a dark past?

"Evil Twins" wraps its short first season next Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on ID.
