Construction jobs were hammered during the housing crisis and recession, but now supervisors and carpenters are among the state's "hot jobs" -- occupations expected to grow faster than average, state forecasters say.

Openings for first-line supervisors and construction managers are expected to grow at 3.1 percent annually with 1,288 openings a year through 2019. Carpenters are forecast to grow at 2.9 percent a year with 1,316 openi
