"American Idol" is looking for a new judge, and Nick Jonas is the man for the job ... at least according to his brother.

"He’s a great producer, songwriter, musician, and even though we’re young, we’ve all been able to have such a great career so far,” Joe Jonas told THR. “I feel like for Nick, he’d be able to bring a young approach to the show ... He definitely knows what he’s talking about in the business. I think he’d probably bring the tough love occasionally and a dry sense of humor [that] I think would work well.”

Nick confirmed that he was in talks to join the "Idol" judges panel last week. "The rumors are true," he tweeted. "I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens."

Nick isn't the only brother Joe's been rooting for lately. The singer recently opened up about Kevin's new reality show "Married To Jonas," premiering on Sun., Aug. 19 at 10 p.m. ET on E!

"I think the fans are going to learn a lot about Kevin and even more about Dani because she is kind of behind the scenes in his life," he told Parade.com. "It’s cool for me and Nick to sit back and laugh because of the drama that people are going to see because that’s reality TV, but I’m happy for them."

Season 12 of "American Idol" is set to premiere in January 2013.
