'Who The (Bleep) Did I Marry?': Woman's Husband Lights Her On Fire

It wasn't all that long ago that Audrey Mabrey's entire life turned upside down. In fact, she's lucky to still be alive, after a horrific attack by her husband in 2009. "Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?" (Wed., 9 p.m. ET on ID) told her story through interviews and re-enactments.

Though Mabrey and her husband were separated at the time of the attack, they were living together. She came home one day to find her husband waiting for her with a knife. He drug her to the garage, attempted to rape her, beat her in the head with a hammer and then doused her with gasoline and set her on fire.

Mabrey suffered burns on 80% of her body and had to be put in a medically induced coma for six weeks during her recovery. She said it took a year for her to even be comfortable in her own skin. But the experience also showed her an inner strength she didn't even know she had.

"My purpose is to give people hope. To show people that, no matter what happens to you in life, you must persevere," Mabrey said. "And you never know your true strength until you’re tested." She now travels the country as a motivational speaker and works with other burn victims.

Her husband was sentenced to life in prison with two additional 30-year sentences and no possibility of parole.

True stories of shocking marriages unfold every week on "Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?" Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ID.
